Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund - provides registration-fee subsidies to help kids access or stay in the game they love. The fund will provide up to $500 per youth player in registration fee subsidies for financially-qualified applicants registered with a sanctioned Hockey Canada association. For the 2026-27 season, the Assist Fund commits to providing $1.3 million in assists to kids across Canada to help them access hockey.
The Assist Fund will be open to receive applications starting August 1, 2026, and will remain opened until $1.3 million of assists have been accepted.

Jumpstart - Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It's about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it's the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favorite one, no kid should be left out.

KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees to kids aged 18 and under.
Effectively immediately, the application deadline for fully completed applications, for the regular hockey season, has been set at September 30 of each year.
Applications for programs beginning in January of each year are not subject to the September 30 deadline.

However, the reality is that financial pressures mean many children and youth are unable to participate in sport, recreation, physical activity and cultural opportunities.
